ive heard that it was because the actress hit puberty early so they killed her off before it became obvious to viewers

and ive heard that her mother didnt realize how violent the show was until she sat down to watch the first season and took her daughter off the show

I call BS

It's piss easy to replace an actress and Sophia did jack shit in Season 1. No one would have noticed if it was a different dumb kid

They killed her off for dramatic effect, just like the pilot.

"OMG Sohpia is dead" was to add drama to the (rather weak) moment to try to make the viewer feel what Hershel is feeling as they all get shot.

I think it was just for attention, given in the comics Sophia is kind of a super important character and lives through the whole story.

Its kind of a shame you played the Telltale games first, because they are kind of the best TWD media. I still like the show and comics, but the games are my favourite.

Yeah if I hadn't made it clear. I'm partway through Season 2. So she just told Shane to fuck off, then told him not to fuck off and stick around so she could be mad at him, then yelled at Rick for lying to her while she lied to him, then took morning after pills, threw up, took a car, drove off, swerved to avoid hitting a zombie for no reason and crashed.

Hopefully she died in the crash. I think the collective IQ of the group would rise dramatically without her and T-Dog.

This is by far one of the dumbest scenes in the show. She's almost intentionally terrible at surviving just to make the audience hate her more.

Yeah I like him too. He makes some blunders in the first seasons like dropping the handcuff keys and cutting his arm on the freeway when the horde was passing by but anyone can make mistakes, it doesnt make them dumb.

So far let's see what he did:

1. Got spanked by Daryl's brother
2. Dropped the fucking key DOWN A PIPE
3. Just went "k" when blond and black lady tried to blow themselves up
4. Cut HIMSELF and nearly bled to death
5. Told Dale to abandon all their friends in the woods and run away with the RV and supplies.
6. Is fucking called "T-Dog"

He just stands there in the background gormlessly while Shane, Grimey and DAryl do shit. And yeah the women, kids, Glenn and Dale do that too but the women and kids aren't physically strong, Dale is 100 years old and Glenn actually pulls his weight when needed.

T-Dog feels more like the group's pet than a helping hand, did he even do the laundry?

The group as a whole becomes a lot more competent as the show continues. Part of that is because (vague, minor, nonspecific spoilers): the idiots and troublemakers start dying off. Sadly, by the time the group is really fleshed out and grizzled, the story starts to drag.

shane is my name and i was never that big a fan of walking deads shane. remember he tried to force himself on lori in the season 1 finale but everyone just kinda forgets that because they hate lori but that was objectively an awful thing for shane to do

Hes got survival instincts for sure and in some cases his calls are the smartest but he's an asshole and a terrible person.

Yes and no, it's sort of a question as to how much of the old civilized ways you want to hang on to. The show will return to that conceptually multiple times. Sometimes in horrible idiotic hamfisted ways, sometimes in better more nuanced ways.

That is how I remember it as well. As for Otis, well... shooting Carl was an accident but in all likelihood Shane wouldn't have done what he did if not for that, and it seemed like he wasn't planning to fuck Otis over. The situation got desperate and Shane just thought "well you did shoot Carl so fuck you" in the heat of the moment. That's how I interpreted it at the time. I wouldn't have done it but I don't hate Shane for it.

Sure but he is currently not a threat to you. In a normal societal setting he would be handled by the authorities and put in prison. This is not a normal societal setting though and there are no authorities to appeal to or jails to put the guy in.
I tend to side with Shane in the argument but there is something to be said for it being an acknowledgement that the old civilized world is dead and the only we care about now is our own survival.

I figured out what it's like. Fable 3

In Fable 3:

A big monster army is coming to wipe out the city and you have to make moral choices:

Liberal policies that everyone likes so they are happy until monsters kill them

Or conservative policies that everyone hates so you can raise money to build an army to stop the monsters

One of these moral choices is:

Drain a river so we can mine it for valuable resources and not die.

or ... leave it because it looks nice.... Then all die.

That's exactly what the moral dilemmas Shane keeps responding too feels like.

Oh. I took it as more spur of the moment at that point, like he would have refrained if he could have but was prepared to do it if it came to that. Still, they could have even written it as Otis sacrificing himself to save Carl out of guilt if they wanted to and my thoughts on Shane would be the same. I don't blame him for it. I mostly saw both sodes when it came to his conflicts with Rick, but I leaned toward Shane... and his conflicts with Dale and Herschel, I was definitely in the Shane camp. He made one decision I disagreed with in the back half of season 2 but I won't specify until I know you've seen it.

Sure, but where does the line get drawn? Because Randall getting away and leading his murdering and raping friends to the farm is a very possible outcome you are justified in ending that threat to the group.
What about someone in the group like Lori who is just an idiot and wrecks perfectly good cars by going off on her own and doing something stupid shit which in turn jeopardizes the group? Should you kill her or kick her out because she is a threat to the survival of the group?

Shane is right in the Randall scenario but has also become so unhinged that we could reasonably believe he might extrapolate that mindset into another semi similar scenario where he could wildly in the wrong.
