If I recall the facts, Texas has usually wound down some of its production at this time of year, and they never bothered to get the de-icing upgrades for their windmills.

I'm guessing there are ways to shield a wind turbine from the cold and wind farms in cold areas tend to be fine in extreme weather conditions. Again this is me guessing but maybe Texas didn't invest in those options because they figured they would never deal with extreme cold, and could save some money.

texas was warned at least twice to winterize their power sources in case this very thing happened. they said "no" because that shit costs money and money is more important than people, to some.

Most of Texas energy comes from oil & natural gas, pipes which have frozen.

Republicans are trying to gaslight everyone into thinking wind farms are unreliable & to blame for the energy crises.

And Texas Republicans refused to weatherproof the wind farms they have so its no wonder a lot of them have frozen up.

They do this to themselves and then try to lead people astray, theyre ****ing evil. Thats the truth of it, Republicans are evil

Shutting down the power grid to trigger the wind libs.

You almost wonder if they were hoping for a winter storm to justify getting rid of windmills.

If they do that and this happens again, they'll just shrug their shoulders and say you can't control the weather. They never blamed windmills. What even are windmills? Wind doesn't exist.
