i've been considering playing xenogears since i never have and it's the biggest psx rpg i've never played

but i'm very put off by constantly hearing that disc 2 was rushed and that the story basically just gets told in a long monologue or something?

is it... a satisfying experience???

I loved disc 2. It's a very very satisfying experience and I played it a few years ago. Easily in my top 10 favorite games of all time.

it pretty much put me to sleep, but I was really enjoying the game up to that point.

Disc 2 is overblown. There are clearly beats that could have been during the game (making it 100+ hours in the process), but they did what they did, and it's certainly a memorable narrative.

I went in with such low expectations since everyone kept saying bad things about disc 2 but then I ended up enjoying it alot more than I expected. Some of the best parts in the game are in disc 2.
