There's a lot of 9's and 8's in these reviews, but also some 7's, 6's and 4's to bring it down. GameSpot in particular is the lowest at 4/10 saying this game is an artifact of its era and has no place in 2021.

My perspective is every game in the series was fine, but never anything I felt was very good. Maybe I'd consider getting it when it's on sale

I dont have a problem with the Gamespot score, if thats how the guy felt about the game, thats what he should score it. But the text just comes across as really whiny rather than insightful or informative.

So why don't they give 2D Mario games, Sonic Mania and the remake of the Gameboy Zelda game a 4 to name but a few. Afterall they're all products of their time as well.
