Don't get me wrong I like "free" money but given that GOP buy in and unity is dead on this issue and given that they can only do budget reconciliation once a year (possibly three times a year with creative interpretation) why not go bigger? Who decided $3200 for a year of a pandemic costing many their jobs/health was just right but $2000 was too little?

That was the talking point around then when gop lowered it to 600. That they would add on another 1400 to make it 2k.

This whole pandemic has been proof that politicans operate under "I mean, it's one banana, Michael. What could it cost? Ten dollars?" beliefs. They don't know and are literally spitballing because none of them understand the plight of the common man during a global pandemic (or even just, y'know, on a daily basis).

why do people who just want free money play the "cost people their jobs" cards for the stimulus and ignore that unemployment increase was for people who lost their jobs and the stimulus is for exactly that. Getting people to spend money

if you're concerned about people who lost their jobs, you should be upset that the unemployment increase was only 300/week and set to expire next month. The democrats proposal will increase it to 400 and extended it into september. Because it doesn't end until march is why there has been no stimulus.

I mean, the promise came like a week prior to the elections in Georgia after Mitch shut down increasing the stimulus from $600 to $2000, and the promises made were directly linked to that proposed increase. It's not like it was some long extended shift or distortion, this shit happened, promises were made regarding making that amendment happen, and then the election happened.

Idk, it seems like a lot of people "misunderstood" but I think you underestimate the vast amount of concern trolling that's happening.
