Do you want me to try to help you with the decision? You made a comment but didn't clarify about what I say and how I say it - if it was a compliment, I can help you.

Dont know the context but find out if you actually need the degree by going through jobs and whatnot. That way youll make additional money to help pay for the 2nd degree if necessary

Let me ask you this. Are you stuck at home with nothing to do until this Pandemic is overwith? then maybe going for a second degree isn't such a bad idea, especially if you can do it online. Long as you can afford it, then what is the harm of being prepared? There is no guarantee that whatever job you went to college for will actually pan out with something. That's why I'm doing multiple things to keep myself as diverse as possible.

I'm asking if I should take non degree courses, or pursue a second degree and how each impacts grad school applications

I really think you need to decide what you want to major in and do first. Pin that down then you can figure out your plan for a degree.

That's something for you to decide on your own. I will say that having extra options is always a good thing, especially if they can benefit your primary degree. But that said, there is such thing as overqualified, which for some reason is a deterrent for some companies.

Skills are skills. Learn what you want to learn. I'd suggest before you even consider those things, look into Youtube and other websites that have teaching tools. Most of the things we learn these days are from Youtube. Hell, I learned how to strip down a computer entirely just from Carey Holzman videos.

At the very least, if you decide to expand on your knowledge in an educational field you won't be going in blind.

Should definitely remark on that before you head back. You're at a different stage in your life than a 18yo just entering college.

Yeah. It feels like I'm way back at that point honestly. Idk. School I just tangible progress that I know I can produce results in now, but that wasn't always the case so it seems like I'd be making even more progress.

I guess I can just get a job and work. But it's really hard to get ahead just working.

you can learn whatever you want by reading books, the same books and research you'd read if you were doing another degree.

so don't waste your time unless it's going to seriously increase income

dude give more fucking context before asking for help.

What are the things you know you want to do
what are the things that might be a good idea
what is area is your current degree in
what is your line of work
how much money do you make
how much do you estimate to pay for a 2nd degree
what kind of degree do you want (BA, masters, etc)

I would think that your GRE or w/e scores you need to get into graduate school would be more impactful than just getting a second degree.

What you pursue should be based on what your goals are. There are lots of certification programs to tap into these days that carry a lot of weight with them, and in some cases they can be better than getting a degree if you already have one and have some work experience. At the very least it can save you a lot of money and put you into the same position.

I think a lot of it's gonna be driven by ... what your current degree is in and what sort of work you're trying to get ultimately.

agree to disagree. I've learned more from my college online textbooks than I did from my professors. There was only one exception to that, and that was my math instructor who actually gave a shit about teaching us, and even that was just the basics of Binary, Hexadecimal and Boolean algebra. Listening to an instructor drone on without giving instructions just isn't my way to learn.
