Believing that there are right and wrong ways to live your life. Concepts such as good, evil, law, order, disorder, etc come from religion. MabusIncarnate 03/03/21 10:00:07 PM #9:	My wife's dad, uncle, grandfather, and many before him come from a long line of preachers, they all are practicing from a history of baptist teaching that they can date back to the 1600s. I thought it was going to be a big issue, because I lived with my wife before we were married, and I made it known to him what my beliefs are and where I stood as an atheist person. Both her dad and granddad were on the same page and taught me that it's a relationship, it's something you feel, it's something you know, and if it's not there, you don't feel it, it's better to be honest instead of lying and pretend to believe when you don't. I don't feel it, I have no faith or spirituality, and they are fine with that. It was more of a "If you get there, you get there, if you don't you don't. It's not for everyone, and not everyone finds faith or belief in God." Neither of them push me, or speak ill of me for it, they don't try to fool me with scare tactics and say i'm going to hell and all of that trash. It's a mutual respect and left the door open for questions if I ever have any, and an invitation to go to church if I ever feel like going. The fearmongering, the ones that act above you, the ones that are contradictory and are terrible people but wear religion as a badge of security that they can be like that but are still safe because they preach, is what ruins religion for a lot of people imo.
