Yeah and so is the Book of Enoch, with references to it in Jude and II Peter. Fuck, Greek mythology might as well be canon given that the latter book mentions the fallen angels being imprisoned in Tartarus, even if it's translated as "hell" in most bibles.

i agree. the gnostic bible is the only one that even tries to make sense of the whole old testament + jesus incompatibility thing (and actually does a great job at it). it's actually ass backwards to me that the idea of sophia, the demiurge, etc are just waved away by the church when it explains why the old testament god required human sacrifice, gave rules for slavery, eye for an eye punishment, and promised earthly rewards like new kids and livestock to followers while jesus demands the exact opposite telling us this earth is a curse/dead and not to want ANY earthly possessions lest they consume you

The Gospel of Judas was considered non-canonical long before King James. As in millenia before King James.

Which is why you'll only ever catch me with a translated Ethiopian bible, I have zero interest in some incomplete collection that came about because a guy got his feelings hurt over some books and removed them.

Great question. For years I actually thought Judas was black. (I was a stupid kid.)

@lilORANG @Sariana21

because JCSS uses characteristics of the gospel. Jesus is usually played by a blonde dude because thats the painted white wash christians use for Jesus.

thsts why I hated the live one a few years ago. They completely missed the point of the show. It isnt a pro Jesus story airing it on Easter like they did.

All you need is a couple pages of what Jesus said, and the rest is just nuance for anyone who truly loves theology

that would be an interesting perspective to hear from, assuming its legitimately from Judas before he killed himself (i vaguely recall he did that shortly after realizing what he did)
