John Mellencamp breaks into your house and becomes your new owner and forces you to only eat either dog food or cat food for the rest of your life. On occasion brand, quality, wet vs. dry, homemade vs. store bought, and other details may fluctuate, but this may not happen often. Which do you choose, dog food or cat food, and why?

Dog food sometimes comes with veggies. Cat food is all meat

At our local Walmart, they either dont keep the cat food stocked or everyone is buying it to eat it anyway. So if you need cat food for your cat, dont come this way!

I bought some Kirkland canned dog food for my dog and that stuff actually smelled pretty good. It looked and smelled a LOT like Dinty Moore beef stew.

Lol I have said for a long time that Dinty Moore is basically just canned dog food for humans, and I like the stuff

Flavored milk bones aren't bad. I remember as kids me and some friends dared each other to eat them and were pleasantly surprised. I bet snausages aren't bad either

What IS the cause of that stereotypical dog food smell anyways?

I thought dog food was mostly flour and bone meal, which sounds like an alchemy recipe in Morrowind or something, while cat food truly does bring mystery meat to a whole new level. Personally if I had to choose, I am going dog food. It is more boring but I think I could stomach it better.

I've tried various kinds of horse treats, and even wrote a review. I've actually eaten quite a few of the Meadow Mints, Senior Snax, and the Gourmet Gold cookies.

Meadow Mints: very tasty, no mint flavor at all. Easy to chew.
DuMor Neigh Nibblers: smells really gross, couldn't bring myself to taste it.
Nutrigood Senior Snax apple flavor: strong anise flavor, weird aftertaste. Easiest treat to chew.
DuMor Gourmet Gold apple flavored cookies: tastes like Cracklin' Oat Bran, no apple flavor. Mostly easy to chew, but occasional hard bits.
Standlee Apple Berry Cookie Cubes: smells fantastic, but main ingredients are chopped alfalfa & timothy hay, probably not edible for humans.
Nutrigood Low-Sugar Snax carrot-anise flavor: too hard for human teeth.
Uncle Jimmy's Squeezy Buns: strong molasses flavor, some very hard bits make it difficult to chew.
