Seiken Densetsu.
Secret of Mana and Trials of Mana are well known, but the first game isn't really. And I'll second Soul Blade/Edge. I've seen Final Fantasy mentioned a few times and I respectfully disagree. It's been ported like a dozen times. It's kinda a cult classic game, similar to DQ1.
