Billionaire Paypal co-founder, Peter Thiel, a staunch trump supporter has donated 10 million smackers to a super PAC supporting Hillbilly Elegy author and venture capitalist, JD Vance, for a possible senate campaign in Ohio to replace Rob Portman who is retiring!!

The hefty donation is to protect "Ohio Values" as Vance who lives with his wife and kids has not officially announced yet but expressed interest

Hedge fund manager, Robert Mercer has also made a significant contribution

They say they are a network of grassroot conservatives who are committed to electing a senator who will stand for and defend ohio values in Washington including low taxes, marriage and anti-abortion issues.

Vance is the best selling author who rose to prominence of book, Hillbilly Elegy about poverity in the US Midwest and his roots in Kentucky.

It was turned into a Netflix film produced by Ron Howard and starring Glenn Close and Amy Adams. The movie was panned however as Close received an oscar AND razzie nomination for her role.

The donation could result in front runner status for Vance in a crowded GOP primary as Vance considered running against Sherrod Brown in 2018 but went against it.

His memoir was supposed to explain to liberal american about white underclass that fueld Trump's rise to power as the former US Marine who became a popular talk show guest for trump's white working class support details how his family were hillbillies from the poor to now successful americans.
