Essentially it was filmed in imax and then all imax theaters got closed because of COVID-19

It looks amazing on a really nice screen, but yeah, it can be jarring watching at home. I love Dark Knight Rises, and I love that Nolan did IMAX, but when they switch back and forth between imax during the 2nd Batman Bane fight, it's like the quality of the imax camera is too good compared to the 35mm or whatever that he did most of the film on. It messes with the illusion of the film a little. Still though, I don't blame him. I'm glad there are filmmakers trying to preserve large film formats (or even film formats at all)
