My go-to will always be In The Heat of the Night. Very, deeply political film released in the 60s with unambiguous messaging. Good movie, too, but if it came out today neckbeards would have a meltdown.

I mean wasnt there an industry-wide reluctance to directly commentate on the war, which is part of why this movie was notable? The first was technically a 3 Stooges bit, though I think this had been in development longer.

I put that up as joke. However Covid has shown us not even a threat that wiping bout millions can be treated as such by all without some people being jerks and trying to make it political.
