My co worker is prepping 1 and has been smoking it since this morning...finna eat some bear meat tonight. What can I expect?

I ordered a Buffalo burger at some joint some years back and thought it was gonna be a burger with Buffalo sauce and blue cheese, turns out it was Buffalo (probably bison) it was dry and a little gamey

I've had bear a few times. It's ok, not a huge fan. THe meat is usually so lousy with parasites that even though it's cooked well and safe to eat, the idea of it is a huge turnoff.

But the idea of one less bear in the world is a net positive, so more power to you, OP.

That's illegal. Buffalo are a nearly extinct species and highly protected. Did you report wherever you got the burger from.

Brown not grizzly. It was... ok? Gamey, but overwhelmingly so. Would have been better cut with beef, but that's pretty much true of all game meats.

If it was actually good to eat we'd have domesticated it.

Grizzlies are brown bears.

I've had black bear but not grizzly. Its okay as sausage. Otherwise its kinda like 2nd rate pork almost.

There are several ways to legally harvest Bison. Commonly through state tag lotteries or Tribal hunting agreements for wild bison, as well as trophy hunts for farmed bison on private land.

I watched a documentary in school about the great depression and in it some guy sold bear meat to a soup kitchen which resulted in thousands of men with violent diarrhea.

Well in that case, yeah it was an American grizzly. I was told "brown bear".
