Just because you were able to pick yourself back up doesn't mean you aren't in a worse plan than you were and may even shut down the next time you're put in the same circumstance because of the earlier trauma (although other people who went through it might think, "Well, I've done it before and I can do it again"). Plus, like Shadowbird said, sometimes the reason why a person doesn't fall is because they're able to withstand the circumstances in the first place.
