When someone wants to forgive someone else they do it in a way that is socially acceptable. Correct? You wouldnt nail yourself to a cross and then say I forgive you. That is too dramatic and will make everyone feel unnecessarily uncomfortable. No need to involve blood to say 'no hard feelings'.
