I think its less hate for KFC and acknowledging that Popeyes is better. Now I dont have a Popeyes close to me so I gladly eat KFC every now and again, but if theres a Popeyes and a KFC next door to each other no one in their right mind is going to KFC for dinner, you know?

Its gotten a lot better. I used to think this but I think theyve upped their game since other chicken establishments have come for their corner.

They're to pricey. Though I do like me a famous bowl once in a while, that's usually not to expensive.

Because if we are comparing 2005 KFC to 2021 KFC then 2005 wins by a very large margin. Don't get me wrong, I used to love a feed of KFC back in the day, but they reduced the seasoning that goes on their chicken to the point where it barely tastes like KFC, and they also got rid of Crispy chicken in my area.

Now, I usually get Mary Browns, which is an east coast Canadian chicken chain. Specifically their Chicken Pop-ins which is their version of Popcorn chicken. It costs a lot more, but the taste blows KFC out of the water.

For one, apparently Colonel Sanders. I just saw a post on reddit of a time in 1974 when he went into of of the restaurants and said it was the worst fried chicken he had ever had.

This was apparently after he and the company parted ways.

I don't think it's hated as much anymore, but back in the 90's, conspiracy theories said that KFC used genetically modified chickens. I remember people saying "I don't eat KFC because it's not real chicken."

Now though, the quality just sucks. The ones out here stopped selling grilled chicken and crunchy chicken. You can only buy original recipe. And I was never a huge fan of the original recipe.

I'd much rather eat Popeye's, Louisiana, Church's, or Golden Bird before KFC.

i imagine it must be soul crushing working in one of those spots...

I love KFC, but they started to jack up the prices again. Half the reason I loved them was because they were they were a few bucks cheaper than their competitors.

Yeah, although it occasionally gets mocked (like it did for stuff like the Go Cup and the Double Down), I don't see that much hate for it.

Otherwise they can be kinda slummy. I've probably seen more fights break out in KFCs than all other (non-booze-serving) restaurants combined... although for a long time I had KFC more than other places.

KFC never should have gotten rid of the wedges though, that was like the best thing about them.

I haven't been there in years, but over a decade ago they were highly inconsistent. Most other fast food restaurants have a bar of consistency.

Agree that people only started hating KFC after they pulled crap like watering down their gravy to save money and their regular 11 herbs and spices didn't really taste that potent anymore. It's the cheap cost cutting that betrayed their customers.
