That's the thing, they didn't accidentally do it, it was on purpose.

This sounds like a nightmare honestly. I was interested in the show from the PV and premise but don't think I'm gonna watch it at this point.

Been wrapping up some seasonal anime. Have a couple more airing thats finishing soon and maybe a series or two. Some thoughts on what I finished. In airing order. (I have not seen the final season of fruitsbasket yet)

Vivy
-Vivy is a very pretty looking show with really good animation. Vivy and Matsumoto make a good duo as their personalities even each other out well. I do think the story does try to maybe do too many things as while the overall narrative is pretty simple and makes for a compelling premise, it's just hard to get invested when it seems to go from set piece to set piece without any real great individual storylines or stakes that shows like Steins;Gate or Psycho-Pass had (2 shows this is often compared to). Still, the whole package makes it a good show.

Megalo Box S2
-This is an anime where I like the message and such that it's giving but coming off the heels of S1 it does somewhat feel like a lot of characters circumstances are in a spot they are in for convenience to make S2 interesting. This is one of those things where I think it would be better if the cast was just different from S1 and they changed somethings around that would not make sense with a cast swap. That being said, the narrative itself is probably stronger overall than the first seasons and it does offer much more character depth.

Sentouin, Hakenshimasu!
-This is basically thrift store Konosuba (made by the same author). It's amusing in places and never quite a bad show, but the characters just dont have the charm (for the most part) of other comedies of this nature. Like, ironically most of the cast is nuts (just like Konosuba's) but in this case the level-headed one in Alice is probably the best cast member.

Higehiro
-This is clearly the most polarizing shows of the season for somewhat varying reasons in and outside of Japan. I was going to write a very long dissertation about Japan's stigma for mental health and the westerns anime community lack to will to be challenged by anything they see as somewhat objectional but I won't.

As for the anime itself. I really liked it. I don't think it's perfect, I think they toss the side characters to well... the side a little too quickly so somethings seem a little fast paced. Which is weird because I also feel like the ending dragged on for a bit too long. But I really liked Saya's journey in the show as well as how unapologetically human Yoshida could be at times and I think the overall message of the anime and the themes it tackled are important things that need to be talked about.

Odd Taxi
-This is one of the few real mystery shows that I think caught my attention. The show has this "style" and I don't just mean the art, but just the package of how everything is portrayed that makes it very compelling and I can't remember the last time when interwoven storylines were done this well in anime. Highly recommend this one.

Slime Diaries
-I think this was a nice but overall pretty mediocre and somewhat unneeded spinoff of slime. I liked that Milim was in it more at the end as it added some more variety, but I think a spinoff that focused somewhat away from like Tempest would have been better.

Zombie Land Saga: Revenge
-At the moment this is my AotS. Basically everything you could want in a sequel and more. For the most part each episode is a well told somewhat self-contained story as the girls work their way back to their big show. The musical performances are great. This is also an anime where the voice work is noticeablely very good. For the most part the comedy is not as over the top as the first season, but it's much more consistent in everything it's doing imo.

86
-(I know this is technically only half done)
86 Might be the best mecha since uhhh.... I don't remember the last time I saw a mecha series that I thought was good. (I looked and the last one I thought was very good was Knights of Sidonia S2 which aired way back in 2015). 86 is a good show that I think is being somewhat overly praised. I like the cast and find Milize to be one of the best female characters of the season. The anime also has decent character development (for her at least) and paints the current state of the world and people very well. But as good as that is I can't get over how little actually happens. They basically spend 11 episodes revealing 1 major story point and not making progress on another one. I'm also surprised on how unattached I feel to the actual 86 squad.

Nagatoro
-I wasn't quite on board with this in the first couple of episodes but the show just got better and better. This is another show that has had some "controversy" but doesn't make me as upset at the anime community as Higehiro. (But it still makes me somewhat annoyed). Takagi-san is one of my favorite shows so I was surprised when I didn't quite like this at first. But as I said it came into form. It's slightly different than Takagi-san of course. Nagatoro feels much more like a cat and mouse romance which makes sense seeing that the ages of the characters are older here. I think what Takagi-san has over this is that the back and forth between Nishikata and Takagi is basically perfection and has this sense of timing and expectation that is just unmatched. Nagatoro doesn't quite match that, but I still enjoyed the show a lot.

swordz9s Summer 2021 Anime Write-Ups Part 4

Battle in 5 Seconds After Meeting - 5 seconds wow AND the MC has brain skills?!?! Sounds like AotY material clearly

Night Head 2041 - 2 supernaturally powered bros in prison escape and get chased by 2 other bros. Could potentially be interesting?

Fena: Pirate Princess - Sounds kinda interesting, but could also be bad. Well see.

Kageki Shoujo!! - So this is just about aspiring actresses? Its also by a studio I dont recognize at all. Not sure if Im interested anyways though.

D_CIDE TRAUMEREI THE ANIMATION - What a title. It at least sounds a little interesting so might check out.

Idolish7 S3 - lmao

Getter Robo Arc - Sequel to a show I havent watched.

Tsukipro S2 - lmao

Pretty All Friends Selection - No idea what the fuck this is thanks to a nothing description.

FINALLY finished this thing. Overall not really a lot of HYPE interest levels, but maybe some stuff will turn out cool.

62 chapters

You might need to be careful with the first chapter. I read it on mangakalot and i think chapter 1 there is a one shot, which is retold over the first few chapters of the actual manga series. I don't think I actually even got to read the first true chapter 1 of the series...

Anyways, I've decided its not a masterpiece because it didn't go far enough the side characters. But it is VERY GOOD. Excellent story about bullying and the ramifications it can have on both the bully and the bullied.

I dont really understand how popular the show is. I mean I do, but I feel like the author is simply doing whatever he wants to with the power of "time travel" stuff. The story has not managed to build its emotional moments like other time travel shows (Re:zero, Steins;Gate, Erased, etc) and I really don't see a strong cohesive story developing either.
