Canada's National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) is expected to recommend today a pause in the use of the AstraZeneca-Oxford COVID-19 vaccine on those under the age of 55 because of safety concerns, sources told CBC News.

The updated guidelines will be issued later today, according to sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity. The expected change in guidance comes following reports of rare blood clots in some immunized patients.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if this is the case here as well.

The rate of blood clots in AZ vaccine recipients is no higher than the rate in the general population. It's supremely disappointing that people are falling for this scaremongering.

dont fall for tribalism, everyone. we must be as cautious as possible, especially if its going into as many bodies as possible.

zero harm in being cautious. There are other vaccines and masks + distancing work in the interim

They didn't need to do this. It works. But because they lied about this stuff the whole company is suspect.

Don't take this vaccine. Don't support this company in any way if possible while perfectly legitimate competition exists.

Zero harm in not taking the vaccine , people! Even if there's no hard evidence that the vaccines are harmful it's still better to risk getting covid than risk a rare side effect that's possibly caused by a vaccine. I would rather trust the world of fearmongering politicians saying that the vaccines cause blood clots and not the experts working on the vaccines!
