that's temporary, that's not the entire goal of vaccination, it's to eliminate the virus, prevent it from spreading and mutating, not just prevent deaths

Look we're not saying they shouldn't tell people to be cautious. However. The headline should say something like... BE VIGILANT; virus cases on the rise. TAKE PRECAUTIONS. Rather than hyping it up beyond reason and scaring the sheep to death. The way they've got it as such a narrative shows that they're trying to scare and herd the population. It's fucked up.

Essentially,all we ask is to project the news in a POSITIVE "we can do it" attitude if we take all the precautions. Not doom and gloom. Guess what? Negative emotions and stress cripple the immune system, so these bastards are doing nothing but spreading more death.

It's so obvious these people at the CDC don't give a FUCK if you live or die. You're just a waste of space in the elite's eyes. Most of us common folk on the other hand, want to see as few people die or get sick as possible...we love life and hate to see anyone die from this shit.

Does it really matter if the language public health officials are using is too alarmist when we're over one year into a pandemic that is nowhere near the finish line? People have already drawn their sides with how they feel in regards to the pandemic and no amount of scientific research about the effectiveness of masks and vaccines or experts choosing carefully crafted words are going to change the minds of people that don't take it seriously.

Armchair experts, skeptics, etc. have consistently accused public health experts of alarmism and doom and gloom for over a year now. 550k Americans dead, a recession, and a year of stunted/lost development for a generation of young people later, people still have the unmitigated audacity to talk about alarmism. What has actually happened is worse than most worst case scenarios at the beginning of all this.

It would be bad enough if the people underselling the threat simply made the wrong call. But no, they're actually the ones making it worse by either refusing to wear a mask, socially distance, or get vaccinated, spreading conspiracy theories, or providing rhetorical aid for those that do these things.

Impending Doom and phrases like it should be reserved for priests, deathcore bands, and those weird dudes that scream about plagues from god on the street corners in Vancouver or NYC.

Doctors saying it is not a good look. You went to school for 11 years, theres better ways to say it then just scaring the shit out of people.

Saying fear mongering is non existent is a bad take. Teresa Tam (our version of Fauci) has pretty much nobody listening to her anymore because again, she says moronic shit like wear a mask when banging your SO. Thats so stupid that even my 62 year old mother who has been following the health orders to a fault has dismissed anything she says. And thats our so called top doctor.

I agree the pandemic is horrible, and its going to get worse before it gets better, but hyperbolic statements like impending doom, or saying you should wear a mask while wiping your ass because reasons is dumb as rocks. Its made even intelligent people distrust or hand wave health officials which isnt good. Again these are people who I assume went to Med School for 11 plus years, they should have more preparation on the shit they say into a microphone.

Yeah, 550k dead in the US alone may not be a doomsday scenario, but it's not something to dismiss at all and as I have maintained, we are still early in the game.

I'm not dismissing anything, but I dont think theres been a single silver lining aspect of covid that hasn't been snuffed out yet, fast, nor hasn't gotten progressively worse.

Hell, even the vaccine was no exception in this regard. Compared to most other viruses, Covid is starting to make zero sense.
