I havent used it in about a year because.. you know... the pandemic. I was going to cancel it eventually and move to the YMCA because they have a pool. I pretty much had to go today because they called me saying my payment declined because it was an old card.

Walked in, not a soul had a mask on. Even the people working had no masks. There was no rules for social distancing either. Literally business as usual with no limit on how many people could be in the building at once. I could feel being judged walking in with my mask on.

Im so glad I canceled that shit. I cant believe I paid a years worth of memberships to a place who doesnt care about peoples lives.

I work out from home. Easier to fart when needed instead of holding that in. Plus cheaper too.

I haven't been to the gym in a year and ultimately cancelled it because they've part of the problem here.

That said, I've managed to keep up my progress and have lost 30 pounds since March of last year.

At my gym I used to use the elliptical, rowing machines, and go swimming.

At home I switched to resistance band workouts (check out hasfit), ring fit adventure, and ddr. This year I've also started doing 100 pushups a day a few times a week.

Going out for walks was also a regular occurrence gym or not.

Honestly, working out from home has been better in general for me. The only reason Im willing to pay now is for a pool because I love swimming

Yeah my fat ass desperately needs to go but I don't feel comfortable unless it's literally empty since I go to a smaller gym.

I'll be fully vaccinated by early May so I guess I'll keep wasting my money til then

This and the whirlpool.

But the free time gained from working out at home is nice too

Yeah it's really sad. Besides hospitals, I can't think of a worse place to be maskless with no social distancing. People are just dumb.

Oh! Thank you for reminding me. I had a feeling that now that things are reopening, my gym would resume charging me a membership fee and sure enough, charged me last week. I'm glad they paused it for covid, but I'm sure as hell not going right now.

so you say. maybe you don't.

and maybe the tc ought to be a bit more considerate than just jumping to conclusions like total strangers "don't care about people's lives".

well...were people still washing their hands? were they still distant enough from one another? were many other sanitary measures still taking place? were they already immune or vaccinated? this is information worth knowing. but of course the tc simply assumes total omniscience, sees someone without a mask, and assumes they "don't care" .

personally I think if you want to try exercising with a mask then be my guest. me I was a bag of sweat after 15-20 minutes on the treadmill, when I used to go to the gym. (I go outside anymore). I couldn't imagine putting on another layer of cloth, this time over my face...

You MAGAs still don't understand the virus, how it spreads via droplets, and particles per cubic meter a year into the pandemic.

It's not surprising, just sad and aggravating at this point.

My gym had masks on until greg abbott said Texas can fully reopen a month ago. I stopped by a few weeks ago and half the people have no masks.

Canceled my membership

It's honestly surprising they made itt hat easy to cancel. Most gym memberships are harder to cancel than cable. Some of them require a fucking notorized request in writing, and they only do EFT payments.

Yea. I just had to fill out a sheet and thats it. I wondered if it was that easy because they couldnt syphon any more money from me since my card expired. I brought that cash to there the same day and signed that paperwork. They also had a dog in the building for whatever reason. No idea what that was about

Years ago I was canceling a gym membership and they told me I had to come in and sign something. And I needed a witness there with me when I signed it and they had to sign it too. And there was a $25 cancelation fee.

it's my fault because all this was in the bullshit I signed at the beginning. Still ridiculous tho.

Stories like this are why I cancelled my membership last May and spent around $2500 on home fitness equipment. Expensive upfront, but it will pay for itself eventually.

I find it way easier to stick to a workout program when working out at home. Plus I don't have to deal with crowds and having to share equipment. Waiting for someone to finish using equipment that I wanted to use always irritated me so much.

Plus at home you can workout naked if you want to........

The best way to get muscle mass is by doing manual labor if you're serious about it. Guys that do things like installing flooring almost always have arms/shoulders that resemble boulders.

Best part is you get paid as well. Gyms are just some dumb trendy shit that most people do to try and hit on girls and fail repeatedly while lifting 20 lbs pink dumbbells.

My gym is kinda a mix. When I am resting because heavy sets I may uncover my mouth of nose but when I am walking around I have it up, and its usually always on my head. I do see a lot of people just not giving a **** though.
