Do you think these kids ruined their lives by having a child in their junior high years?

17 y/o Maddie Lambert has opened on the hate she got when she got pregnant at 13 years old stating online trolls would send her addresses to ABORTION clinics and telling her to "die in labour" as the Youtube star from Fort Worth, Texas says the birth of her 3 year old daughter, Everly, was a gift from GOD!!

She had her daughter with ex b/f, Isaac who was an ABSENTEE FATHER for the first 10 months as he DIDN'T believe he was the father!!

She said "I got pregnant at 13 and contemplated having an abortion but literally the second i looked at that ultrasound screen, i knew i couldn't give up this baby."

Ironically she looked down on "teen moms" and said "When i actually got pregnant, i was so scared of the reaction i was going to get and i did get a lot of negative reactions, a lot of hate. Everybody had something to say and they didn't hold back. People would say, you're ruining your life. "

She also said boys in her class would put balls under their t-shirts to mock her and one of them sent a message to her stating "I hope you guys die in labour. I took that and i shifted it. This is making my life. The hate made me want to do better; it made me want to show them that i'm going to be the best mom ever, even though i'm young"

Now she says everly changed her life and now she realizes why God put her on this earth and it was to be a mother to her baby girl as she has reason to fight.

Maddie now boasts 1.52 million followers on Youtube and Isaac, now 19 says he didn't believe her at first stating he thought it was all a joke or that she slept with ANOTHER GUY but when he saw the scan, he got scared and tried to ditch her completely.

But when he asked for a pat test, it confirmed he was the father and said "I just couldn't accept the fact that it happened but it happened. Maddie had the most hate for me, which was correct. I messed up right there. I feel like it would just be a lot better if i would have come out like, hey this is my daughter".

Now they found a way to co-parent as Isaac is doing his best to help raise his daughter with his small paycheques as Maddie has her social media career to look forward to.

Do you think these kids ruined their lives by having kids in junior high?

While it's obviously not ideal and makes life harder for them, I'd hardly say that their lives were ruined. If teen parents have an adequate support structure, they can achieve the same things that teen non-parents can achieve. The idea that somebody's life can be determined at that age (obviously excluding death) is fucking stupid, especially since there are tremendous opportunities out there for young people today that weren't available even 20 years ago.

You'd think she knows by now that that's not how it works.

Sex ed in Texas isn't the best.

You know, I just skimmed the article the first time around, but now that I've re-read I noticed that she was 1.5m YT subs. This topic is asking if her life is ruined, but in some ways she's actually doing much better than most kids her age.

Pretty much. Teen pregnancy is a major complication that is going to interfere considerably with the parents' (particularly the mother's) lives, so it's important to try to prevent it (comprehensive sex ed, improve birth control availability, improve abortion availability...), but with a solid support structure, there's no reason teen parents can't keep their lives on track.

I'm dating a chick who was a teen mom. Her kids are already grown and out of the house. Lots of people her age are still neck deep in raising their children. She's already done with it and can move on with her life.
