Oh hey so the black girl is supposed to be Captain Marvel's friend's daughter from the Captain Marvel movie all grown up and an agent? Neat.

Not sure what story they're going to tell in 9 episodes. I'm on episode 4 and seems like as I suspected from the very first trailer, this show is about Wanda losing her mind from grief and constructing a reality where she gets her happy ever after? And what, the agents are gonna try to snap her out of it? Harness her power?

Waiting on what the twist is gonna be, I've seen plenty of "holy shit!" comments that I've managed to avoid the past 2 months that I assume are probably twist related.

And if so, is Vision who is just Wanda, acting as... her conscience? Like that small voice in the back of her head telling her what she's doing is wrong on some level?

When I saw Days of Future Past Quicksilver in the show's trailers, I was hoping this would be the first example of the multiverse and Disney's buying of Fox and X-Men and we'd start to see more of those properties soon in many ways.

But I'm starting to think it won't be quite what I'm hoping for. Maybe it will in Dr Strange 2 but I don't want to hope.

The 90s moved away from the family sitcom formula in favor of the group of friends scenarios, the most prominent of the former probably being Home Improvement and Fresh Prince. They just skipped the era because the zeitgeist didnt really mesh with the shows style.

Lol looking at her past type storyline. I feel like there's a weird bizarre gap between having dvd collections of I love Lucy/Bewitched and Malcolm in the Middle. They're not even found in the same aisle. And are they implying this took place in the 2000s, not 80s soviet union or?

I can't remember if I heard it somewhere else before but were wanda and quicksilver's parents their adopted parents? Did Disney leave room for their birth father to maybe be magneto? Or they just went with a version where they're not related period?

BTW, isn't it anachronistic that they have DVDs in Sokovia? What year is it? 2000? The PS2 just released (IRL), DVDs were slowly becoming mainstream, and most of these series probably weren't even on DVD yet. Why didn't they use VHSs?

Yeah that's what I was implying with the spoiler, very anachronistic but probably being handwaved away as "wanda's fragile psyche misremembering things" or something.

It's especially hilarious because in real life MitM is one of those shows where they didn't release a single season on DVD boxset besides the first one for some odd reason. So the fact that they have that one, is pretty funny.

And also they probably didn't want to take the extra effort to somehow find vhs tapes or something.

The MCU seems to use a floating timeline just like the comics. One of the Spider-Man movies seems to imply all the events of the MCU (except Captain America and Marvel) happened in only 2 or 3 years instead of like 12 years.

Edit: I think they are supposed to be in some Balkan country that got stuck in an eternal civil war.

I don't think they said adopted parents. Given that the comics retconned them being Magneto's kids I wouldn't expect them to reveal Magneto is their father. Although it wouldn't surprise me if they retconned both the movies and comics to reveal Magneto is their father.
