We are hopeful, at a time of national renewal in the USA, with a government so outwardly dedicated to advancing the rights of indigenous and minority communities, that the concerns of the UN experts will result in tangible positive change for the Chamoru.

key word. outwardly.

Why is that when America celebrates stuff in an American way, they never use their first nation people? You know, that entire race that was there MUCH longer than the country has even been called America? Why is their identity removed from the Nation's image so much? Those people don't even seem to have their own flag or anything. It's oddly obvious that genocide via marginalisation is occurring and no one says shit about it.

Different native American groups have their own flags. Not to suggest that are not marginalized or mistreated .Just want to point that out.

Yeah, I realised I was just being ignorant myself there and looked that up just now. Thanks for correcting me though, I deserved it.
It's like expecting American's to realise that Aboriginal Australians have their own flag (most don't seem to even realise we have black people here!).

I'm First Nations. I can tell it's a crock of shit. C'mon. I don't expect Americans to respect equality. They barely even respect one another.

They don't and anyone who says that the US cares about it's own indigenous communities are picking and choosing their sources.
