I searched on amazon for pepper spray and seems like fox labs has great reviews

Maybe if you're bigger or faster than them. But I wouldn't trust my life with just pepper spray if I had a choice.

As my LT. Said at work. You may not able to fight but you can whip a blind mans ass. It becomes very difficult to open your eyes once pepper spray gets in them. I know ftom expierence as we have to feed sprayed to be allowed to carry it.

You dont have any clue what youre talking about. my friend and I both pepper sprayed each other to test it out a few years ago. I get kidney stones every year. Over 13 in my lifetime with 2 surgeries needed for bigger stones. A chest tattoo right over my heart too right to my nipple. So safe to say I have a pretty good idea of pain and a good pain threshold

being pepper sprayed was one the worst experiences of my life. You go completely blind and are in complete pain. There is not a chance on earth that if you get sprayed right into the eyes that youre continuing your attack. I advise all women to carry pepper spray on hand it is that effective

I had to get sprayed while in the academy. You literally have to hold your eyes open to see anything.

I guess if the assailant already has grabbed a hold of you, it might not make a huge difference.

What I mean is if they're in range where you can accurately spray them in the eyes, they're already probably have forward momentum in your direction and are aware of your general location. If the person is bigger than you, they're gonna grab you.

Yeah it's better than nothing, but people making it out to be this ultimate weapon in this topic are deluded.

After we got sprayed, we had to do some combat drills, perform an arrest, etc

to show you that no matter how bad it hurts, you can still operate/function.

because when you spray someone on the job, youre most likely getting hit with it too.

so if cops can work through it, some criminal prob can too.

Then why do cops use tasers instead of pepper spray in nearly every situation? Could it be that pepper pray is inconsistent and sometimes ineffective depending on the person it's used on.

well maybe Im wrong about the type the military uses but my guess is the stuff we used (which was advertised as one of the most powerful pepper sprays on the market and left us completely withered) is probably stronger than what the military uses for their training. So Id advise getting the strongest pepper spray you can, then Id say yes zero chance anyone is fighting through that type.

this is the dumbest argument lol. You dont actually understand the difference between a taser and pepper spray? After youve been sprayed you could still wildly swing putting yourself or bystanders in danger, and youre also going to be writhing and more likely to wiggle making it much harder to cuff someone whereas a taser is putting you down so that you can be safely apprehended. I would much prefer being tazed to pepper sprayed as well as a citizen.

you can BUY military grade pepper spray lol. There is no secret to pepper spray its all based on scoville levels. However not being in the military I cannot say what level theres is all I know is the one our friend gave to us she bought because it was the strongest out there.

ignoring all this, its also much easier to fight through pepper spray when you know its coming. If you get a criminal right in the eyes its over. Theyre not going to have their senses because They didnt know it was coming

there is no better self defense tool for women on the street than pepper spray. @pogo_rabid What better tools are you talking about? Can you name one? And if you say a knife or a gun then lmao

Funny when I spray someone im expected to take their ass down and handcuff them.

What you say would be the easier route as the average person is gonna stop doing whatever the fuck they are doing for at least a few seconds.

As far as LEOs being forced to fight threw it thats part of why we get sprayed. So we learn how to fight through it. The other reason is so we know just how much it hurts and perhaps have some sympathy and don't go spraying people all Willy nilly.
