I don't like heavy dialogue. That's why I prefer games like Dark Souls. But I want to give Skyrim a chance because the combat looks pretty good and the environments look amazing.

Yeah but so is The Witcher and he doesn't like that

The combat isn't the highpoint of Skyrim. It's not bad, but it's not why you play for 100s of hours. The majority of the time you're looking around for stuff, hustling that stuff and listening to people's problems to solve. Combat is probably 20% of the time you're playing. If you take out the time in-between combat in combat areas, it's more like 5%

Vanilla Skyrim would likely be a disappointment.

I disliked the fighting in Witcher 2. Felt very confusing.

You played on easy/normal then. It's not hard to keep upping the difficulty as you grow. Im 180 hours in playing on Master now and would instantly die with your technique. I have to utilize buffs and conjuring or I get nowhere. And especially arrows. Mostly cause I'm in VR and you can spam arrows all day.
