All I know about it is that it's like super hard, so I'd probably have to replay the game just to refamiliarize myself with everything and be ready for it...is it worth doing all that

The Ancient Gods part 1 is super hard

part 2 is supposedly a cakewalk. Idk, because I upped the difficulty to play part 2. Feels pretty hard to me so far.

As far as having to refamiliarize yourself, nah. DOOM is almost like riding a bike. It might take you 30 minutes or less to get a feel for the controls and combat loop again. Especially in an intense fight. You'll be back to your old self or better in no time.

But if you're like me and you like to have a certain familiarity with the story and such, then maybe it will be worth it to replay the base game. Although the story isn't a strong suit for this game.

I think they've nerfed part 1's difficulty, though I'm not sure if it's just certain parts or overall.

They nerfed a bit of the first DLC, mostly the first level though.
The second DLC is much easier. Similar to the end of the main campaign.

The end is a bit anti climactic though. Felt kinda rushed.

Yeah, I think Part 2's easier and they nerfed bits of Part 1 to make it easier. Apparently they're wanting the Master Levels they release to be the ones that are ball-bustingly hard. Which makes sense I suppose.

I think I'll give it a shot then, the main game was a lot of fun.

just play through the last few levels again at least. but it's a great game so it's not like replaying the base game is a chore lol
