See, THAT doesn't even work: One of my two best mates is a legit miget. He full on looks like a D&D dwarf. You should see his gf. And she pursued him. But you should see her. It's like art.

My other best mate is also short. And fat. And bald. And generally sickly. But he's is just such a top dude and doesn't given enough of his effs away to be bothered by his physical setbacks. His fiance is also highly attractive.

Out of the three of them, I guess I'd be the hot one, right? Just has never mattered! Never even thought about it until now, and I guess our friendships all worked that way. And we were more confident because of being around each other, ya know? There was never competition like that. Success for one is still success for the whole.

I can see what you're saying. I don't mean to be disingenious, I just really dislike the fact that dudes languish in these identities they create aroudn themselves when it's easier not to be held back by yourself, is all.

I really can't say I'm masculine though. The fact I'm not has been a reoccurring theme over the years. You don't wanna hear me dad talk about it.

No! Confidence doesn't know any gender! Confidence is the currency one spends in recognising ones own value is all!

I mean, I'm not willing to get into a whole "dollhouses can be for boys!" debate with you (my youngest brother LOVED his doll house -- dad wasn't keen on that either) but by now I'm well aware that I present certain traits that are associated with being less than masculine. I've mentioned this twice on the board this week, but to give you an example, I got called a f**** on the street three days back.

I wear clothes that are probably a bit fancy and have a fondness for girl's tees (and belts!) and I get called out for it often. I also get told I look good more often than that, so I don't particularly care either way.

Is any of that helping?

No, it's making it worse actually. I'm sorry you have to go through people talking shit to you for expressing yourself. But I don't think think discussion is particularly relevant to you in the same way as it might be to other people if you don't think any of it matters at all.

People frustrated with this stuff are frustrated with the people who do think about it and invest time into it, not people who don't think about it and otherwise have no relation to the topic at all. You're not a "beta" male because you wear girls' tees, that's far from the point.

fwiw 'beta' is usually paired with 'girl problems' so if you're not having that problem, I don't think you're the target of this topic
