People complained about WandaVision dragging, but dang, it's more noticeable here. Half the season in and we've hardly made any progress. Lots of fluff.

I grew up on the MCU in my teen years. Seen every film in theaters starting from Iron Man 1. At least the movies HAVE to move forward at a faster pace due to the time limit. This show is like 10 minutes of progress and 30 minutes of formula.

it doesn't seem to have the social media attention WV did and a lot of people i know have expressed no interest in watching this. Confirmation bias though but even I haven't watched an episode and i woke up at 3am every friday to watch WV

The whole premise probably strikes a lot of people as like when Ant-Man or its sequel came out. The casual crowd isn't likely going to watch it

it only seems to drag because it's not sitcom length episodes like WV.

WV had to keep its hook by starting and ending with high points for each episode.
much of it was pretty baity and didn't add much to the overall plot but was just there to keep people guessing while waiting for the next episode.

This...besides, I liked the concept of a buddy cop with these two characters and it's delivering well so far.

WandaVision was a mystery. This is just Sam and Bucky chillin. I like the interactions between the Sam, Bucky and other characters more than anything going on in-world related to the main plot.

Wandavision was a fresh look into characters who were interesting that didnt get enough screen time.

F/WS just kinda feels like Winter Soldier but longer and slower. The characters feel the same and it doesnt feel like its doing anything new. Its not a particularly good drama and the comedy doesnt hit enough for it to have charm. Wandavision for me felt like i was watching something different. F/WS feels like im watching a shitty version of The Boys

I liked wandavision and I'm liking Falcon. Half way in both are equal or so for me. Reserving judgment until done.

Saying Falcon is dragging: Let's not act like the first 3 episodes were for everyone in Wandavision. A lot of people I know thought it was a drag.

Less social media presence: Most of Wandavision social media presence was batshit crazy theories "Mephisto! Xmen! Fantastic 4!", the biggest moment (social media wise) was Quick-Boehner showing up. I think people may have learned to keep expectations in check.

Comparing to Ant Man: Ant man movies grossed well over half billion. Falcon episode 1 was more watched than wandavision episode 1

Zemo being released sounds important
Seeing the source of the serum sounds important
Madripoor is important
The flag smashers (rushed) heel turn sounds important
Sharon carters return sounds important

If an episode of television doesn't have a major revelation or hype moment it's filler.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier is okay. I think the problem is that it's just inherently not as interesting as the other Marvel stuff. Black Widow will probably have a similar issue.

Last episode ended on the shocking revelation of who's help they needed. This weeks episode started with them going to this person and show you how they got him out through a quick flashback. This person quickly helps them out while establishing a bit of background for him. They go where they had to go, found who they needed which revealed the location of who they really needed while being saved by a character from the past...yadda yadda you know the rest.

NOT.A.SINGLE.SECOND.OF.FILLER. Show me where they took a detour from the main storyline?

I think Ms Marvel will be a pretty fun watch since we'll be seeing a whole new origin story from the perspective of an Avengers fan who gets powers. If done right it should feel fresh.

I think the real issue with the third episode of FATWS was that the Flag Smashers aren't really all that interesting of a threat so far. That's basically the only thing episode 3 was focused on. The new Captain America, the racial stuff, Bucky dealing with his past etc. are all much more interesting plots and episode 3 didn't have any of it. It just had Sam and Bucky chasing a bunch of boring villains for nearly an hour.

It might shape up better as the season goes on though.

i think its because its gonna have a little impact overall to the MCU

wandavision seemed to heavily lead to multiverse shit with a lot of focus on magic (doc strange 2 also)
loki is all about time travel and thats important for ant man 3 and kang

just guesses, but this series seems like it might lead to:
sharon carter is working for X group who is in another movie
zemo somehow creates the thunderbolts (who dont have a movie planned and who knows where they would fit)
who the next captain america is (not that important overall)
the wakandians having some relevance but not really

not super exciting imo. if anything, i think this series will lead up to secret invasion. norman "won" in that, so they could have zemo win this time and his "avengers" are the official government team kinda like squadron supreme (SS hehe) are in the comics

more magic, but yeah the post credits did along with sword/fury and space shit. both through characters that were around during the story

i dunno, im not trying to nitpick the series, its just hard to current envision where this series will lead to. while with wandavision, we didnt need to reach the end before thinking house of m, multiversal summoning, magic shit, captain marvel 3 (or photon, i forget her name now)

like, where are these characters appearing next? feels like secret invasion would be the best shot while i guess fantastic four could be an avengers tier movie. like doom starts a huge drama and the FF are "technically avengers" until the end when they decide to go travel space and multiverse stuff? (so they can fight annhilus and meet the silver surfer)

we have confirmed phase 4 movies with confirmed characters

the only unconfirmed stuff is wiccan and speed being aged up, though wandavision proved they are still around. also hulkling, thats just guessing

i cant picture them being added any other way other than they all already exist within the MCU and always have. but with an intert x-gene. one of the movies has *event* and walla, x-gene is activated and now suddenly those dudes can shoot lasers and blow up cards or read minds and shit

basically terrigen bomb but better and for mutants imo

The Flag Smashers in the show are just not interesting. I just find it hard to care about them since they get so little screen time. Then Karli going off the deep end with the bombing just made me lose any semblance of interest.

Everything that isn't the Flag Smashers is interesting.
