Cause there's a definition for life, and it doesn't fit that definition. You can make up other definitions to fit whatever you want it to fit, but then it loses meaning.

definitions do not give life though, life existed (on this planet) way before people could think of labels on things

You could say that, yeah.

Rocks, stone and minerals would be the bones, and dirt would be the skin. The core is the heart and produces an "aura" of electromagnetic energy. All plants conducting photosynthesis combined with the rotation around the sun for seasonal weather patterns would be it's lungs and breathing system (inhaling during spring/summer, exhaling during fall/winter).

In a lot of ways, the earth is indeed alive, it just moves so slow because of how massive it is. Think about how small our cells are and they last for days or weeks before copying, splitting and dying. Humans average several decades. Trees for hundreds of years. The earth takes thousands of years for the smallest changes. We can observe and measure things like subtle shifts in plate tectonics, or lava flow that is magnetically attracted to flow true north. And then you have stars that take millions or billions of years to go through their life cycles.
