Libre office is compatible with Microsoft office and does most of the same stuff.

Google docs is pretty much exactly the same, free, and has cloud storage built in.

If I already have a few documents that are either Microsoft word or Microsoft office is there a way to flip them over to Google docs?

Im pretty sure OnlyOffice has much better compatibility with MS Office than LibreOffice. If thats important to you, you should look at that as well.

use google docs.

your job likely has MS Office, so you could use it through that.

On the other hand, this one is terrible advice, Google's apps are fucking shit. Only saving grace is the cloud backup, but it's not that hard to use a better set of office apps while still using Google's, or another's, cloud backup.

Some workplaces have a deal with Microsoft to get it at an extreme discount. I was able to get office for $15 through my job.

I get Office365 (and therefore Office) for free through that so maybe that.

This. Why are there so many posts that aren't suggesting Google.

It looks and functions 100% the exact same as Microsoft Office. And it's compatible with Microsoft's files. And it's free to literally anyone. And you can access and use your files anywhere with internet access.

You're welcome, TC.

because google docs is terrible compared to word

if you convert it from pdf to a word file after doing it in docs then it will possibly be fucked
if you do it in word first then ti will be fine
