Let me ask something. Is there any practical use for doge coin?

I bought some when it was .002 because a friends told me I should and its obviously made some $ for me but I still dont get why it has any value other than people buying it. Is it just a ponzi type pyramid scheme or is there a real use for it?

Im thinking of selling the rest of my position to put it in something else but know almost nothing about crypto and particular know even less about anything other than bitcoin

fair, it is back up again. but that's the third time it's cut selling today, in three different ways. (this one let in buy orders, but not sell orders.) hopefully it's just them not being able to handle a big volume spike.
