They're pissed off at Democrats for existing anyways.

And quite strange. Republicans didn't seem to worry about pissing off half the country when they blocked Garland. Or when they rushed Barrett in so quick.

Or pissing off half of states when they push to pack state level courts.

But of course I forget myself. It's only Democrats who have to concern themselves with this. Republicans can piss off whoever.

they're also not half the country

conservatives are less than a third of the country

they had their chance to vote for what they wanted, and they didn't turn up. elections have consequences.

I believe everyone should live their lives as the see fit. If you're not hurting anyone else, do whatever you want. And stop giving the federal government the power to tell you how to live your life.

It's why I hate that I'm taxed so much. Because if I was taxed less, I'd be completely stable financially.
And if decent healthcare, safe housing, and education was guaranteed, 90% of the country would be financially stable. But I guess you don't give a single flying fuck about your fellow Americans.

No. No one who had sexual reassignment surgery in elementary school in the last 30-40 years had it done in the United States. Either you misunderstood what you were told, you're lying, or they lied to you.

The typical process is:

1. Lots of counseling.
2. Change of clothing, hairstyle, possibly name.
3. Hormone blockers until 14 or so.
4. HRT starts between 14 and 16.
5. SRS not before 18 in the United States.

@gunplagirl or @Sayoria might be able to correct me if I've got any of that wrong. But I know for a fact that no accredited therapist or surgeon in the US will agree to SRS on a minor.

You have this correct. The idea of surgery for youths is a fabricated bullshit lie by the right, and there's not a single documented situation of this happening in the US to a youth. Norman Spack's Ted Talk outlines all this well.

I think everyone should live their lives as they see fit, so long as it doesn't harm others. And I vote accordingly.

The price of gas does not care what race you are.

The price of gas does not care what gender you are.

The price of gas does not care what sexuality you are.

If the price of gas is up for me, it's up for everyone.

I try to think, and vote, in a way that I believe will help everyone.

This is a pretty good example of how easily the whole "live your life how you want, as long as no one gets hurt" is either a meaningless platitude or an impossible standard. Gas causes pollution that hurts other people. If anything, gas should be more expensive in order to compensate those that are harmed. But the harm is mostly diffuse so we can just ignore it

Is gay marriage illegal anywhere in the US? I didn't think it was.

It would still be illegal where I live if not for the federal government. Hell, schools would still be segregated here if not for the federal government (maybe)

True. We shouldn't be trying to make gas cheaper. We should be trying to get away from limited resources. If more cars were electric, everyone would have an easier time paying to charge their cars. Thankfully, I am seeing more charging stations going up, but it will still take a while.

If it's spun as an "equal protection" issue, it's plausible for a state to just ban marriage for everyone.

I am quite interest in that story, even if only anecdotal.
Ok, I am on break at work now.

There's not much to tell.

I transferred to a new school my senior year of high school. I was in a class called AP Seminar. (Waste of time) and I met a guy named Andy. Cool guy, and being the new student I was looking for friends. We got along pretty well. Then in the later part of the year, I found out that he was trans. And had gone through with reassignment surgery. Ok, no biggie. Then parent teacher conferences rolled around for 2nd trimester, and my dad wanted to talk to my AP Seminar teacher. So we went in, and I bumped into Andy and his family. It was there that I met his little sister. I thought nothing of it at the time. It was later when I asked Andy about his sister that he told me that she also had undergone the transition. At the time I just said, "Huh, ok." But it still bothers me to this day.

Was Andy lying to me? Maybe. But I have no reason to believe he would.

But yeah, that's all there is to it.

This is a stupid argument. I have no problem with a small portion of my paycheck being taken for roads, emergency services, etc. But they take far too much. I'm not proposing the abolishment of taxation, even though it'd be sweet. Just stop taxing me so goddamn much.

Yeah, well, maybe they should do what I do, and work harder. I'm not waiting for someone to come save me. I'm working, and I'm going to work harder. Their healthcare is not my responsibility, and neither is their education, or housing. Just like mine is not their responsibility. If your way of life is to just constantly wait for the government to come bail you out at my expense, I have a problem.

It was an example of a universal expense that everyone pays. Not the end all be all. You could replace the word "gas", with "groceries" and it still means the same thing. Gas was not the important part of the example.

For what it's worth though, I don't disagree. But until a viable and affordable method of travel emerges that isn't gasoline operated cars, we can't really do anything.

So long as we need an "infrastructure" bill every generation or so, gas taxes need to be higher.
If it gets to the point where gas-tax-avoidance via electric or whatever undermines those revenues, then institute a tire-tax or a federal fee on license plates. Mileage taxes are just icky, as a concept, unless it's rolled into the license-plate fee.

Yeah man you told a bad, clearly fake story and its pathetic that youre trying to paint it as anything but. Youve been disingenuous all topic and youre capping it off with I knew a trans person and they totally told me out of the blue that their kid sibling got their genitals reconstructed. Boomer Facebook might believe you but no one else will.
I haven't lied all topic. You just want to paint me out as a monster so you can justify your arguments from a position of moral superiority, so you can tell yourself that you're doing something good for once in your miserable fucking life.
