They'll have to rent server space from amazon or microsoft for that kind of infrastructure which will cut deep into the profit margin. Xbox doesn't suffer from the same handicap as they're not only a much bigger company with deeper pockets, but also have unlimited access to Azure.

Sony already does through Microsoft, they announced this like 2 years ago. There's a reason why Phil Spencer said 2 years ago that they see Google and Amazon their competitors moving forward and that's because those are the only 2 companies that can throw their $$ around like Microsoft can.

Microsoft has publisher buying money, Sony has EVO buying money. Like TC said, Sony sold 120m PS4s and from that we get $70 games, a studio closure, PS3/VITA store shut down, a laughable backwards compatibility program, 3rd party games launching into GP, including now a Sony developed game. You would think this would finally get fanboys to see that consoles sales aren't the deciding factor as they were 20-30 years ago but nope.

I said this years ago, the day Microsoft decides to throw its full force behind Xbox its a done deal. Owning Minecraft was the start.

Once Sony put out its Game Pass equivalent people will be back on praising Sony.

And they will come out with something on par or similar to game pass for sure. Might not be the exact model MS is doing.

They spent $380 million on acquiring cloud technology for PlayStation Now lol, if anything they've been trying to double down on it lately

They fancy themselves as part of Hollywood now, hence the urge for "blockbusters"

On a more serious note, Jim Ryan is the Sony equivalent of Don Mattrick and he's lucky PS5 is selling so well (mainly to scalpers) because he should probably be the last PlayStation exec talking with his frequent foot in mouth habit
