Yay for representation I guess but the movie will have to put in a lot of leg work to make the character not a blatant orientalist caricature or a Bruce Lee clone (which he is, let's face it). It would be great if we had Asian / Asian American superheroes who didn't further kung fu stereotypes, but I guess we have to take what we can get. He's had some good comic arcs but even there he largely he works best playing off of other street level heroes like Luke Cage/IronFist/Daredevil so the fact that out of all of these guys Shang-Chi is the one to get a movie is wild.
