Amazingly SCHD where I park most of my money is even for the day.

What even is in this wizard index fund. I picked it because it was doing well and it seems to always over perform everything

This and AT&T are the best recommendations I've had. I wish I put more in AT&T but I'm so glad that I put a lot of cash into SCHD. Thanks again for the recommendation.

I reaaaaally like the way GVSI is trading for the long hold. It didn't go ridiculous and run 300% or anything, and Level 2 shows 50 million in sales, so lots of traders are out of the way. We'll see if there isn't a heavy EOD selloff though. If it hits .05 or close to it I'm guessing there will be.

Yeah, I'll wait for the real catalyst to take more profits. Shit can get truly crazy from here on out. I hope all the George Sharp fans from TSNP are right, and he already has something lined up here for the merger. I bet it is crypto related too.

Oh, Sharp applied for ANOTHER ticker. At this point I just need to stalk his twitter like I did for GVSI to make big plays on those. This is getting weird though. Like damn man, do you just want to own all the former scam stocks in the world for the sake of it? Do you actually have enough companies interested in your custodianship skills post-TSNP that you have a reason to do this? I dunno, wish he'd just focus on GVSI. That would make me feel a lot more comfortable.

Nice, maybe I shoulda put more into GVSI. I really shoulda sold some of my NET last week - I got greedy and decided to see if it runs up a bit before earnings but it's lost a lot of its recovery. Back to holding I guess.

I'm just gonna hold my $120 investment in GVSI forever and see whereever this custodianship thing goes.

Nobody Missed on gvsi. It was an incredibly risky play. If the court ruled the other way it would have gone back to being worth nothing.

Not taking anything away from people in it, but there are sure things and then there are gambles. This was definitely the latter.

100% agree, though it does suck to take a chance on similar stocks and get burned and see one take off that was right there in front of us to go for. But that view is all hindsight! This doesn't even mean GVSI will explode into profitability in the future or that other Sharp stocks will also be winners.

Then there's research, and there's a reason I invested in GVSI and never bothered with any of the tickers George is pursuing. Not to say it wasn't still a gamble, but there's a reason smart money was buying this and dumb money was chasing others. Just had to pay attention to the court filings.

Im slowly learning how to game the system.

Last Friday, I got $1300 in premium on a $134 call on Wynn. But because Wynn took a hit today, I was able to close that call for a $450 commission (net gain of $850) then sell a new $129 call for $1,000 in premium. So my net gain went from $1,300 to $1,850. Nice.

But isn't is SIGNIFICANTLY more likely to recover back to $129 and trigger the call?

If I'm understanding this right you own 100 shares of WYNN and someone paid you $1300 to have the option to buy your shares from you for $134 if the price increased enough by the strike date. I don't know what you got in at, but presumably it was less than 134 so you end up profiting from the sale of your shares and collecting the premium if the call triggers. But you'd prefer if the call expired worthless and you get the free premium and then STILL own the stock to continue to sell calls.

But by setting a new call that seems significantly more likely to trigger aren't not really gaining that much? Because now if the call triggers you are gaining $12,900 for the sale of your stocks as opposed to $13,400. So you paid $450 for a chance to earn $500 less when the call triggers and are really only coming out $50 ahead?

And the stock closed at 128.86 yesterday so it wouldn't take much recovery to hit 129.

At least that's how i'm seeing this, maybe I'm missing some key details.

So the $1300 / $1000 is the total premium for 10 sets of calls?

edit: which honestly makes more sense because I couldn't imagine you getting a premium equal to 10% of the total sale if the call triggered. But it makes your decision to trade your call down that much more baffling unless you are convinced that the price is going to continue to plummet. Because essentially your total sale will be for $5000 less in the event of a recovery now.

Yes. The expiry date is Friday. I do not expect it to climb up to $134 by Friday, and if it does then oh well, I still ended with a profit.

but if it ends anywhere BETWEEN 129 and 134 you cost yourself a good bit too, right?

Like with your original deal @ 134 you were going to have collected free premiums for any price below 134, and you will have still profited a good bit from your original buy price in the event of a trigger. And so your best case scenario is a high sub-134 finish that will allow you to sell another week long call @134 (or even higher?) for another decent premium gain.

I guess I'm just not seeing as much of the upside to switching for 129. You basically took a new premium of $550 for a not-insignificant chance to sell for much less. Which I wouldn't be as concerned about except the fact that it finished nearly at 129 yesterday and finished above 129 twice last week so we're not talking about a crazy deviation here.

But hey for your sake I hope it works out, I'm not just seeing it as an obvious slam dunk of a situation.

I think it is because I got an additional $550 and increased my chances at getting rid of the stock. To me, the odds of it finishing above $129 are low. Ill probably be stuck with it into next week, at which point Ill sell another call close to $129.

And this is why I'm thinking of selling off a lot of stuff and going for cash to be held for either lots of buying in a crash or for other things. I'm also looking for safe investments.

But do you realize that if it ended at $131 or something, you could just sell the shares? It seems like you feel like you have to be forced to sell the shares or else you will not do it, but it's always an option.
