Another day, another incident. 5 dead in shooting, cop shoots unarmed suspect, 7 dead in shooting, cop beats handcuffed suspect, 8 dead in shooting...this is America and for some reason half this country is ok with it. But when stuff like this happens in China or the Middle East theyre quick to say see how horrible it is there!...were not too far off. We just do it a different way here. Actual developed nations are laughing at us.

And also not addressing the rampant overstress of American Society which is driving some people to go full nuts out.

To be fair, it's an unique American problem in comparison to other First World Countries. Third world countries like Africa and Mexico also have mass shooting problems as well. But yeah acting like the world would be safer if everyone owned a fire arm is fucking stupid because the statistics don't show that.

I hope you know Africa is a continent, not a country...

Gun ownership in the UK is strictly controlled. It didn't used to be so much until a mass shooting at a school in Dublane in 1996. It's the same in Australia and New Zealand where more control on gun ownership followed on from mass shootings. What's so weird is that America has so many mass shootings and does nothing about it.

Oh no doubt, but I was trying to reinforce his point about mass shootings being a serious problem in America that doesn't go away because everyone owns guns. The only reason I made that distinction because I've seen many pro-gun advocates harp on semantics like that, but most go silent immediately after pointing out many First World countries have much stricter gun control laws and don't face this same epidemic.

Unpopular opinion: we were too free for too long and refused to keep up with changing societal norms, values and problems. Because the 250 year old words of slave owners are apparently ironclad and should never be revisited.
We refuse(d) to entertain real solutions in favor of attacking the other side with hyperbole, fear tactics, and good old fashioned hate and always bring the discussion back to the words of long dead racists shall not be changed or the worst things ever will happen once that Pandora's box is opened.
Now that the situation has reached a head idk what, if anything, the solution is. We're fucking nuts man.
