I feel like both answers are accurate. On one hand, it makes Annihilation look like Bloodsport. On the other hand, it was a lot more fun.

The newer film had higher production values scene by scene, but the story was incomprehensible. To be fair to the director, the film had way too many characters for one movie.
They should've stuck to the tournament structure. Then half of the characters could be unnamed losers in various rounds of the tournament. ... Copied to Clipboard!
