Still though, no party is going to be perfect and 100% do everything everyone wants. Side by side, this doesn't even touch all the awful Trump and the right has done, and continues to do. Politics are politics, politicians lie, and this will never change. There seems to be movent on the idea of reframing defunding the police to allocating resources differently. There can be different types of workers to respond to different issues. Some cities have attempted this especially in mental health crisis cases with a lot of success. There are also some calls to have a separate group similar to parking enforcement for traffic enforcement. A lot of the ideas behind the defunding movement are about taking away various responsibilities from law enforcement and/or demilitarizing them. Secondly, I believe these numbers are due to the riots ongoing... the riots didn't pick up until q2 last year, so it makes sense that more money would be allocated right now compared to q1 last year.
