And just focus on the wholesome lives of the Finch family where they never encountered any racism or wrongdoing whatsoever, and no one got hurt emotionally or physically.

Because we cant show racism to a modern audience, not even to highlight that racism existed and how it effected people negatively as an example of why not to be racist. Everything has to be family friendly.

What are you basing this on? You're imagining something, convincing yourself it exists, then getting mad about it.

I thought today was "Hollywood pretends racism exists more than it does" day. Now we're pretending Hollywood doesn't show racism?

But there are moviesade today that have racism in them. I think, if anything, it would focus more on the racism and how bad it was, and certain types would complain how Hollywood is "trying to divide us" and "shoving racism down our throats."

The favorite novel I have had my students read was World War Z. Works into the curriculum really well for verbal history and spoken word stuff.

It always comes down to who is making the movie.

Following recent trends, I would expect the police to be pointedly and invariably bigoted and for white actors to be prohibited from using that word even as they play fervent bigots in a storied indictment of racism.

Oh, I was just making an observation of how historical racism from decades old shows and movies has to be removed. At best there is a new warning saying how such practices are wrong then and are wrong now. At worst, those old productions are butchered beyond recognition or completely cancelled.

So now you're complaining about racist works, not works that portray racism as bad.

Spoken like someone who spends more time caring about political talking points than actively engaging in modern culture. Therefore giving you a totally off base and out of touch opinion which you were checked on by every subsequent reply.
