a bit lol >_>

I feel like this is the 1st time I saw an argument for veganism that actually got my attention for once >_> None of that meat is murder or other pretentious elitist bullshit that normal folks don't give a fuck about. They show stuff like "here's a 40yo woman winning a gold medal after switching over" or "here's literally the world's strongest man lifting like 1500lbs up with only vegan protein". I haven't fact checked any of this yet but it seems legit >_>

I kinda want to try slowly cutting meat and other products out and see how I feel. Hopefully it's not a placebo >_>

But fuck, I love putting meat in my mouth every day. This'll be tough

Also, I love the quote that Schwarzenegger said in the documentary "if you tell people to stop eating meat, they're gonna tell you go fuck yourself. Instead be like 'hey, try out not eating meat for 1 day a week and see how you feel.'"

But ass is where all the meat goes.

Therefore veggies go in the boobs.

It's science.

My advice is just try it out on some days of the week. See if you like it, see if you feel better (you will).

Go from there.

Even reducing your meat consumption is a good thing. You don't have to go full vegan or vegetarian to make healthy changes that are also good for the planet.

Also, eating living creatures reduces your magic powers.

(6:12 for the really stupid part)

This is why people laugh at vegans lol. At least this documentary was like "yo, here's manly men like firefighters and athletes having their blood tests improve and talking about how they feel better and having better results."

thanks for the read.
sounds like the documentary believes a plant based diet is inherently superior or something.

reading these critiques there seems to be some of confusion about a "mainly plant-based" diet still being regarded as "vegan". that I am aware of, vegans eat ZERO meat. now if the documentary thinks that gorillas or ancient gladiators eating "mostly" plants proves veganism is superior to a diet with any meat it in, then I don't know what to say...that sounds suspicious...

it doesn't say that. the point was that gladiators, strong warriors who engaged in battle for a living, ate mostly plants and were still obviously strong despite that. the point was not to say eating plants was superior, but that you don't need to eat animal products to be strong, because there's a common belief that you need to eat meat and drink milk to be strong

I did it for a week.

I went full vegan for a lot of meals; every time I broke from vegan my gf got three cigarettes. Most days she only got 3 cigarettes. Anytime I ate meat that wasnt fish she got 5 cigarettes. It only happened once and was kind of a gimme because it was dominoes pizza and I said there might be meat in the sauce.

The last day I got an entirely vegan lunch aside from the Gorgonzola cheese which I took off. After I got done I felt so hollow and empty and was just like fuck thiiiiis

I was working on carpentry at the time and I wasnt getting enough protein and it just sucked lol. I really dont see how people do it, its denying yourself so much of the experiences of life. Almost every single vegan I know has slid back into vegetarian at the least. Its no way to live when food is such a daily pleasure type thing. Im against factory farming but if I get to the point where I can sustain my meat intake on just wild caught meat Ill do that. A single deer can last a long time etc

What kind of stuff were you eating that you weren't getting enough protein? I work a physically demanding job and exercise after work most days, and I had no trouble getting enough protein despite a complete lack of animal products in my diet. Most people already consume nearly double the protein they need.

I mean I'm lifting thousands of pounds of doors/cabinets/vanities each day. I pick it up I paint it I move it. I pick up the 8 foot tall cabinet, paint it, and move it back. Not anymore of course, but it was pretty intense for a minute. It doesn't help most vegan options at restaraunts are also low calorie...
I mean most vegan protein is beans. Without processing or concentrating ingredients, you're not going to find much more protein than beans, and who wants to eat beans all the time?

It's just not for me. I'm not giving up cheese and fish ffs lol, I clean my own fish. And fuck givin up milk, I like it too much

My two friends are vegans, they cook some great stuff

If you just eat the same but remove cheese, meat, and eggs... You're missing the point, imo. Vegan isn't just eating salad every meal

'cook some great stuff'

Being the operative words here. What do you do for lunch? I can't cook fresh for lunch on a job like that; I'm stuck preparing the night before/morning of. Usually it was a salad with some vinegarette dressing that contained some olive oil so it still had some calories; I'm not into stewing/steaming vegetables, you take out so much of the good stuff that way. For dinner sometimes it was the faux meat or fish, or pasta. I wasn't doing gluten free

It became a lot of work just to figure out what to eat, and the commitment wasn't to try and do it long term, it was just to try it out. And I don't plan on going back; it took so much more work to cook things that even came close to my cooking non-vegan and it was always more expensive even though protein is the most expensive part of a meal.

I also did it before the impossible burgers and stuff came into vogue.

I didn't do it out of principle, I did it to try it out and see how I felt. And after a week I didn't feel great.

I JUST SAID it wasn't actaully meat sauce lol. And this was a week in, and it wasn't a salad, it was a vegan sandwich.

Showing people how you can still be healthy, what the various alternatives are etc, I do think can help a lot in making people transition or cutting down in their meat/animal products.

I don't object to showing the horrors of the industry either though, as much more to it than "factory farming" which at this point people are aware of, if not the full extent of it so much easier for them to dismiss.
