I dont think you are alone. It is pretty common, specially in a man/woman relationship.

Personally, I wouldn't mind. Heck if they do that's even better because I know if I fuck up they can still provide for us meanwhile I recover.

My wife makes more than me now if she works full time (she's not at the moment due to spending time with our daughter). But I was working while she was in uni and in a casual job. Now I'm working full time and she can work part time. So it all worked out.

Should not bother you.

Only time it's critical to take into account is when YOUR PARTNER is literally judging a big part your value by your income and thinking less of you when it's not competitive to theirs.

Sometimes when a person has anxiety over earning less then their partner it's because they have had shitty partners who were hypercritical, hypocritical, and very often sexist about judging a large portion of a partner's worth by status and earning power.

There's more than one reason someone could feel bothered by not earning more than their partner.

For example:
Some men feel emasculated and threatened when the woman in their life starts making a higher income. True.
Some women get butthurt over their man not making more than they do, especially when peers point it out. True.

And some men have anxiety over earning less than their partner, NOT because of ego, but because they have literally witnessed other men like them still getting dumped for not excelling at the "provider" role up to their partner's arbitrary expectations. Unfortunately, true.

If you're not dating someone superficial like that, you have little to worry about. That's the benefit of having that kind of partner.
If, however, you are dating someone who loses attraction to you over your income not getting them hard, find someone else. You can and should do better.
