I lived in Phoenix and Albuquerque and vastly prefer Albuquerque but I was already married in both instances so something like the nightlife wouldnt matter so much to me. Phoenix gets way too hot, snowbirds are awful, windshields regularly get destroyed, but its got every kind of sports team and definitely more of a big city vibe than Albuquerque. El Paso has nice weather but hardly has anything going on. If you're retiring then maybe here. Phoenix is probably the best bet for a young person.
