But I still default to Water if no one stands out too much like this current gen. iirc I went Gen 1- Squirtle Gen 2- Totodile Gen 3- Mudkip Gen 4- Piplup Gen 5- Snivy Gen 6- Chespin (which was ironic because Greninja ended up being so cool. But I avoided looking at final evolutions before I started X/Y and Froakie looked dumb so I passed on it.)
