The only time I have been lectured and dismissed for my experiences dealing with racism have come from the progressive, Buzzfeed type white liberals that I have met.

like when people find out that I'm "African", they sometimes day negative things to me about Black Americans, because they often believe the notion that Africans don't like African-Americans, and vice-versa.

but I was born and raised in the US, and that hasn't been my experience, so whatever criticisms they might direct towards Black Americans affect me too.

Yes. Many of them on reddit suffer from some kind of extreme savior complex, and are more than happy to throw out casual racism and paint certain races as feeble an unable to do anything with their help.

A lot of them dont even seem to realize what they are doing.

Then you get the ones that hide in echo chambers and throw around racial slurs. Then when they are confronted, they call people fragile and ban them so they dont have to engage in an argument they cant mentally handle.

I also call making a joke out of serious issues on GameFAQS and trying to conflate one cause for another in topics involving nothing to do with race sorta racist

Sure. My dad is as liberal as they come - watches Rachel Maddow religiously, argues with his Trump supporter friends on Facebook, has voted Democrat in every single election that I know of. But my whole life I remember him cracking jokes about the Chinese restaurant in our town using stray cats as meat, etc. Racist jokes are a pretty big blind spot for a lot of liberals (and leftists). Also racist attitudes eg natural black hair is ugly still pervade society at basically every level and liberals are not immune from those at all.

As far as actual leftists goes, plenty of it to be found on places like r/stupidpol or among Stasserites/nazbols (although I think theres an argument to be made that those groups arent actually part of the left), and even genuine, well meaning leftists will weaponize racism (or misogyny) against individuals who support right-wing ideas.

Yeah, I've had a few liberals on the internet assume I'm white and dismiss me in arguments. Even though I'm about as white as tree leaves.
