Sure it might not do much for people who didn't play the originals.

But the nostaglia rush is so real. Kickass music, great characters/animations. So many callbacks, fun level design.

Have a grin from Ear to Ear when Adam and Max turned up. And when Esteel used the "Call the Bazooka Cop" thing on YOU and the elevator level.

You can tell there was legit passion and love from the devs behind this. It wasn't just a lazy cash grab like the Flashback remake.

Tons of nitpicks sure. Not Jax just seems to be shit since so much of the gameplay design seems based around moving, the hit detection is a bit lousy, sometimes punches go through enemies yet they can hit you.

and bosses/sub bosses just deciding that your hits don't count and ignoring them was bullshit when Shao Kahn did it, it's bullshit here.

But man this game is such a blast. Why is no one talking about it?

I guess since Sega became a shell of it's former self, all the Sega kids went away and all we have left is Nintendo kids who have to pretend Kid Icarus really was better than Sonic

Agree on all points. I think Flashback was my favorite game of all time. When they said they were remaking I counted the days and fuck if I wasn't so damn disappointed.

It's actually pretty shit compared to most beat 'em ups and really doesn't have much in common with the first 3 outside of a few mechanics copied like grapple attacks and back attacks, etc. They really should have just made a new franchise so they could make their juggle beat 'em up.
I prefer the fan game Streets of Rage Remake

I love 1 and 2

3 was a mess , for some reason they screwed it up outside of Japan. Messed up the plot and made it super hard for no reason

I'm still in the process of beating the game with everyone. It's been an amazing experience that's far more than just a nostalgia trip. I freaked out once I learned about the unlockables.
