Yes, because unlike your stupid ass analogy, he's not hoarding anything, he's spending money. He's actively contributing to the economy and to society while you're shitposting on gamefaqs because you're too lazy to lift your fat ass off the chair and actually do something productive

Hatred for billionaires in general just seems like a simplification of a bunch of different issues. Certainly hate on any that are known to have used unscrupulous means to attain their wealth, but otherwise it just come off as petty jealousy.

That $500 million yacht will employ many people.

It's not Bezos' fault that because of the pandemic people cannot pay their rent and need help.

The common reductive posts people make about these subjects are not helpful, and we know they're not helpful. So do the regressive left pundits and their sheeple who repeat them. So why does anyone still do it?

The truth of the matter is much more complicated, and unless someone is willing to abandon reduction and instead embrace nuance and depth of thought, it will be impossible to improve the system in a way that doesn't just collapse it.

What does Bezos have to do with a pandemic that has shuttered a lot of the economy? Almost nothing. If anything, we should be thankful Amazon operates at the scale it does how well it does, because otherwise we'd be even more fucked.

Obviously Bezos needs to contribute more to his workers. It's not an either-or situation. It's not like either Bezos funnels $500 million into the economy by employing the engineers and technicians and architects who build those vessels, or we have rent guaranteed for everything.

So what is the use in reducing the state of the system to such one liners? And who is hoarding? He's putting that money back into the system. I don't care how many cars or homes or boats someone buys as long as they're paying their fair share of taxes, and this is really the only reasonable position someone can take without seeming like they're devolving into reductionist ways of thinking.

He's not responsible for every single fucking person just because he's rich, and the people working for Amazon, Whole Foods, etc, are paid well above the baseline workers in their states so they're more able to pay their rent than a guy working at Wal-mart, McD's, a grocer, etc.

A lot of Americans refuse to return to work because the unemployment checks they're receiving, is more than their scummy employers care to pay. Biden is telling them, if you want people to return to work, pay them at least $15 an hour. But they've gotten so use to exploiting employees so most of them are unwilling to budge.

Jeff Bazos can afford to pay his lowest earning employee, more that $15 an hour. The profits he makes reflects the value of his workforce however, they are not compensated like they should be.

Billionaires don't hoard money. They're not like, keeping it all under a mattress. "Hoarding" money means keeping it in the financial system, ie investment, which is better for long-term growth in a developed economy than consumption is.

So yeah it would be better to actually have that money in a bank account than to spend it on a boat. Tax them when they decide to spend.
