Well the jack was like 75, stands another 30. Then I had to buy oil, the filter, and I got a new air filter for good measure

Also a drip pan. Ran about 150. Oil changes for me are about 50

The last time I changed my own oil, it was accessible within an arm's reach so I wouldn't bring up the car, I'd just grope my car's bottom until I found the thing to unscrew.

Most cars lend themselves well to brake pad replacements, bit it's a good idea to know the torque specs to all of the bolts.

If you haven't yet already, I recommend buying a Chilton book for your car.
