He has self-awareness. He's physically solid in the real world. In that, he's about as real as anyone else, even if he did start out as little more than someone else's dream. In that sense, he's about on-part with a fully self-aware and free-willed AI robot that's completely indistinguishable from a normal person (and we debate about whether or not they should be treated like "people"/humans all the time in sci-fi). If you prick him, does he not bleed? If you tickle him, does he not laugh (stupidly)? If you poison him, would he not die? And if you wrong him, would he not seek revenge? So where do we draw the line between "real" and not? But also: Red_Frog posted...
