the average person will interpret their words to say whatever they want. or ignore them if they want to. this is why vaccinated people still wear masks when they are told they don't need to. the CDC is responsible for telling the truth. if people are dumb, it's their own damn fault. It's not like the CDC didn't specify that they were talking about vaccinated people in the first place

They did it in the most roundabout ways with conflicting bullshit being put out on a regular basis that fox news and the antimaskers just ate up and used to great effect to convince a whole group of people to become antimaskers who otherwise may have abided mask mandates without issue.

This is happening in my area and it not anecdotal if Fauci has to come out and repeat unvaccinated people should still wear masks.

They aren't misinterpreting it. It was clear as day every where I saw it. If you are fully vaccinated, you can stop wearing a mask in most cases.

People are just now bolder about flaunting their non-mask use and you mistake it as "misinterpreting" it.

It's their job to do all the science stuff.

We have no efficient way to adequately check vaccine status and some areas of the country are doing their best to make it as hard as possible to do so. Places that are dropping their mandates have already stated theyre not checking vaccine status. Its an honor system recommendation that was socially irresponsible to make, regardless if the science supports vaccinated being able to go maskless

I cant quote that because of how gamefaqs quoting works now, but holy shit. Talk about missing the point. Businesses and states base their policies off cdc guidance. Guess what the one thing were missing is? Effectively checking vaccination status, which is a major crux of the recommendation on who can and cant go maskless. Its socially irresponsible to make that recommendation when we have nothing in place to check that aside from a card that I can anecdotally tell you people have either lost or vaccine sites didnt have enough at the time of vaccination, and areas of the country make it as hard as possible to do so. The fact they themselves have on record called it an honor system is detrimental to their own recommendation

They knew this was going to be the outcome the second they said it. If they didnt know they havent been paying attention to the country in the slightest. The only thing they could do different is wait a few more weeks or a month so that more people are fully vaccinated before everyone stops wearing masks.
